BJP state president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, on Monday, 8 January, said that his party was poised to win a maximum number of Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming general elections in April-May.

Interacting with the media after the two-day party conference of state-level leaders, the BJP leader said that the party has gone over various aspects of the preparation for the Lok Sabha elections and has finalised an action plan.

“We have found that the prospects for the party are very bright and there is no one anywhere who can challenge Narendra Modi,” he said.

Main fight with Congress

Replying to a question, the minister said that leaders would resolve differences among them, if any. “It is our internal issue. We will sort them out and work like a team,” he said, indicating that the party was giving top priority to better coordination.

The party had found that it had lost several seats in the recent Assembly elections because of lack of coordination and the simmering differences between top leaders.

He said that the party felt that the main fight would be with the Congress, as the BRS has become irrelevant now after its defeat in the Assembly elections. “People of Telangana do not need either KCR or the BRS anymore,” he said.

During the two-day conference, the party leaders went over the nitty-gritty of strengthening the party apparatus from the polling booth level to ensure better results in the elections.

“We will begin campaigning with slogan ‘Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar’ (Once again Modi government),” he said.

Other discussions

The BJP discussed at length the Prana Pratishta at Ayodhya Ram Mandir on 22 January and the arrangements that are going to be made across Telangana state for the occasion. The event would be telecast live around the world, including at Times Square in New York.

The telecast will be available for watching at all the temples in the state, too. “We will organise swachh abhiyan in all temples from 14 to 22 January. On the day of Prana Pratishta on 22 January, all Hindu families should light Rama Jyothis at their homes,” he said.

On Sunday, various committees, including first-time voters, Viksit Bharat, Sri Ram Mandir Sandarshan, Gaon Chalo, and Basti Chalo, met and discussed the arrangements they were making to gain traction among the people against the backdrop of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
