Drop in temperature leaves Telangana shivering; Sirpur records 10.5 degrees Celsius

The IMD issued a yellow alert for 30 December in certain districts of Telangana. Mist and foggy conditions will likely prevail in the state.

Telangana minimum temperature

The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) has released the latest data on minimum temperatures in the state recorded from 8:30 am of 29 December to 8:30 am of 30 December.

According to the report, Sirpur in the Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district recorded the coldest temperature at 10.5 degrees Celsius (°C), while Suryapet reported the highest minimum temperature at 15.7 degrees Celsius. The remaining 31 districts registered temperatures within this range.

As of Saturday morning, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad experienced the lowest temperature in the state at 10.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Adilabad (10.8°C), Rangareddy (10.9°C), Sangareddy (11.4°C), Vikarabad (11.8°C), Mahabubnagar (12.3°C), Medchal-Malkajgiri (12.4°C), Medak (12.5°C), Nagarkurnool (12.6°C), Nirmal (12.6°C), Kamareddy (12.8°C), and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri (12.9°C).

Within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, Rajendra Nagar recorded the minimum temperature at 13.2°C, followed by Hayathnagar (14.4°C), Alwal (14.5°C), Secunderabad (14.6°C), Patancheruvu (14.7°C), and Qutubullapur (14.9°C).

What has the IMD predicted?

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for Saturday in certain districts of Telangana.

Foggy conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, and Siddipet, as well as under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Medak districts of Telangana during the morning hours.

For the next 24 hours, mist and foggy conditions are very likely to prevail during warning hours, with a partly cloudy sky later. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 29°C and 18°C, respectively.
