Much like South First reported in December last year, the Telangana government on Wednesday, 10 July, appointed Dr Jitender IPS as the Director General Police (DGP) in the state.
Ravi Gupta IPS who held the post of the DGP has been transferred as Special Chief Secretary to the state Home Department.
Jitender, a 1992 batch IPS officer, will also be holding full additional charge of Director General of Police (HoPF), according to the order issued by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari.
Jitender was posted as home secretary in December 2022. He also held an additional charge of Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement.

The general administration department of the state also made a reshuffle of several IPS officers.
