In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Telangana government has transferred 10 IAS officers, giving them new postings.

The transfers appear to be part of the reshuffling of officers as there is now a change of guard in the state.

With this, the Congress — in power in Telangana — seems to be preparing its team to implement its welfare and development works ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Big TSPSC change

Among the officers transferred is Anita Ramachandran, who was the secretary of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).

She has now been posted as the commissioner for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development.

Dr E Naveen Nicolas — a 2018-batch IAS officer — has been posted in her place.

He was the secretary of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) and the Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS).

The transfer took place against the backdrop of the state government’s renewed efforts to cleanse the TSPSC after it came under a cloud over its inept handling of competitive examinations and leakage of question papers for recruitment to various posts in the state government.
