Victim jumped out to prevent an assault

“The incident occurred at about 8.30 on the night of 22 March,” Government Railway Police informed South First.

The victim, a 23-year-old native of Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, visited Secunderabad for a phone repair. Residing in a hostel in Medchal, she boarded the Tellapur-Medchal MMTS to return home.

“This incident should serve as a wake-up call,”: KTR

Taking to X, BRS working president KTR expressed his shock. “A young girl had to jump off a moving MMTS train to save herself from a rape attempt in Hyderabad! Truly shocking and unsettling to hear this news,” he stated.

Further, he requested Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take cognizance of the issue. He requested the Minister to ensure speedy a speedy investigation into the matter.

He took this opportunity to say “This incident should serve as a wake-up call to the state government.” However, he acknowledged that the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the railway police. “The overall law & order situation is beyond pathetic!” he exclaimed.

“Why are criminals feeling very emboldened to commit heinous crimes in broad daylight?” he questioned.
