The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Monday, 30 October, announced its second list of 43 candidates for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. The seats include 29 in the general category, six reserved for Schedule Caste (SC) candidates, and eight for Schedule Tribe (ST) candidates.
According to the BSP statement, among the candidates, six have completed SSC, another six have completed SSC plus Intermediate of two years, 16 are graduates, 14 are postgraduates and above, and one is with no schooling.
On 3 October, declaring that it was time for the “rule of Bahujans”, the BSP announced its first list of 20 candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections.
The seats included nine in the general category, eight reserved for Schedule Caste (SC) candidates, and three for Schedule Tribe (ST) candidates.
The party’s state president, chief minister face of Telangana, and former IPS officer Praveen Kumar in a media statement said, “Unlike other parties, we have not shown partiality to any caste. After our chief Mayawati’s approval of the list, we are announcing the names of the candidates for our second list. The next candidates will be added to the list soon.”
On the ongoing political issues, Praveen said that Minister KT Rama Rao is making false promises of standing with the unemployed youth but the youth is looking towards BSP in Telangana.
“We have been fighting for the unemployed in Telangana. The Chief Minister KCR will be questioned on fraud schemes of Kaleshwaram, Mission Bhageeratha, and other GO 111 being issued for encroachment of lands,” said Praveen.
The people of Telangana will definitely question because there were lakhs of students who have participated in protests to get separate Telangana but the situation of these aspirants is limited to their rooms now, said Praveen adding that a generation has been lost and the students are affected by huge loss.
The SIT should work with Telangana State Public Service Commission officials and BRS officials should agree with flaws in realising the job notifications. The recent death of Pravalika is being dragged on with questions being raised about her personal character, he added.
