Kavitha also demanded the Congress government to release a white paper detailing the debts taken, and the work done in the past fifteen months.

Synopsis: BRS MLC K Kavitha criticised Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for claiming the state lacks funds for development, accusing him of misleading the national media. She questioned his financial claims, highlighting discrepancies in capital expenditure. Kavitha also criticised the Congress government for taking on significant debt without fulfilling promises like welfare schemes, pensions, and infrastructure development.
BRS MLC K Kavitha, on Monday, 10 March, criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, for claiming that the Telangana government doesn’t have funds to fulfill the pre-poll promises, or spend on developmental works.
Responding to Revanth Reddy’s comments at the India Today Conclave in Delhi that he is unable to spend even ₹500 crore on the developmental works, the BRS MLC said, “Despite being the chief minister of the state, he is lying at a national level that the state is suffering and that the finances of the state are bad. Quoting his comments, the national media has printed that Telangana is in a financial crisis.”
Further criticising the chief minister, Kavitha claimed, “Because the chief minister himself had never taken part in the statehood movement, he has no idea of the struggle, and is easily degrading the state.”
“Unfortunately, the love, respect and hopes that people of Telangana have for the state, are lacking in the chief minister. In the last ten years, the KCR had brought in many investments, putting the state on the national map, at par with other states. And now, the chief minister is degrading the same state to cover up his failures,” she added.
Revanth Reddy further claimed, “Though Telangana earns ₹18,500 crore per month, I have to pay ₹6,500 crore as salaries and pensions per month. I also have to pay ₹6,500 crore back as debt and interest per month. That means ₹13,000 crore is gone before the 10th of every month. I am left with only ₹ 5,000 crore for welfare and development. I have no money for capital expenditure.”
Questioning the claims, Kavitha claimed, “According to the RBI data, the chief minister has been spending about ₹3,000 crore almost every month on average on capital expenditure. Only one month he had spent ₹500 crore, and another month he has spent ₹7,000 crore.”
Further accusing Revanth Reddy of lying to cover up his failure to implement the prepoll schemes, Kavitha noted, “In an attempt to discredit the works of KCR government, he is degrading the state.”
Training guns at the Congress government, Kavitha claimed, “In the last 15 months, the government has taken a loan of ₹1.5 lakh crore. This means they are taking a loan of about ₹10,000 crore a month.”
“Despite this, they are not fulfilling any promises. Women didn’t receive ₹2,500 per month. Runa Maafi, Rythu Bandhu, or Rythu Bheema has not been implemented completely. The promised 10 grams of gold for women getting married was never delivered. Young women did not receive electric scooters. No ₹4,000 pension. No new infrastructure. Yet, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy got the chair, and the people of Telangana were deceived by the Congress.” she added.

Responding to the allegations that the BRS government had taken debt, Kavitha said the KCR in 10 years availed loans of ₹4.3 lakh crore, including ₹38,000 crore as guarantees.
Further listing out the expenditure by the then BRS government, Kavitha noted, “If we took about ₹4,3 lakh crore, we created a revenue of more than ₹50 lakh crore.”
Kavitha also demanded the Congress government to release a white paper detailing the debts taken, and the work done in the past 15 months.
