BRS MLAs with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Triggering a minor flutter, four BRS MLAs from the erstwhile Medak district of Telangana called on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the state secretariat in Hyderabad on Tuesday, 23 January.

They were V Sunitha Laxmareddy (Narsapur), Gudem Mahipal Reddy (Patancheru), Kotha Prabhakar Reddy (Dubbak) and Koninti Manik Rao (Zaheerabad).

Though it was said that this was a courtesy call, their meeting raised eyebrows as of all the BRS MLAs, only Medak legislators called on him.

Interestingly, the Medak district is a BRS stronghold: BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao hails from it.

Courtesy call, say MLAs

The meeting evoked curiosity in political circles as it happened ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The MLAs insisted that it was a courtesy call and said they sought funds for the development of their respective constituencies in the interaction with him.

Gudem Mahipal Reddy told South First: “We called on him to bring to his notice the protocol issues we are facing back in our Assembly constituencies.”

He added: “We also sought the release of funds for works and steps for grounding of works already sanctioned.”
