BJP Jana Sena Telangana

Scores of BJP workers from Kukatpally Assembly constituency staged a protest at the state party office in Nampally in Hyderabad on Monday, 30 October, demanding that the leadership should not allocate tickets to Jana Sena with whom the party is planning to form an alliance.

Holding placards, the activists said that allocating Kukatpally seat to Jana Sena would mean indirectly helping the BRS candidate win the elections.

The morale of the cadre in the constituency would be affected to a large extent if the ticket was allocated to Jana Sena, they said.

The irate activists relented only after the senior leaders assured that they would look into the issue.

Angered over possible alliance

The police beefed up security at the party office anticipating that several activists led by their leaders from various constituencies might throng the premises to stage a protest if they fail to get tickets in the third list of candidates to be released any time this week.

The party has already released the first list with the names of 52 candidates while the second list with only one name. The party is also holding talks with the Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to contest the elections together after forming an alliance.

This prompted the party workers from Kukatpally and a few other constituencies to go into a panic mode fearing that their leaders may not get tickets if an alliance was formed with the Jana Sena.

Reddy launches attack on BRS

At a separate press conference, Union Tourism Minister and Telangana BJP state president G Kishan Reddy launched a blistering attack on the ruling BRS for failing to render justice to unemployed youth since 2014 after the formation of separate Telangana.

He said the Telangana society was in no mood to listen to the false promises of the BRS leaders this time during the Assembly elections.

He said that the people in Telangana, especially youth, were ready to teach a fitting lesson to the BRS.

Both the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and his son KT Rama Rao, who is also an IT and Municipal Administration Minister, were dreaming that they would come back to power again, said Kishan Reddy.

“It’s nothing but their foolishness,” he said, elaborating on how the BRS government failed to come to the rescue of the unemployed since 2014.

Kishan Reddy said the BRS government HAD promised to give unemployment doles but nothing concrete has been done in this regard.

Kishan Reddy announced that the BJP would take up complete revamp of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and fill up all the vacancies in various government departments in a systematic manner if the party was voted to power.

BJP to convene CEC meeting on Nov 1

The meeting of the BJPs’ Central Election Committee (CEC) under the leadership of party national president JP Nadda will be convened on November 1 to declare the list of candidates of other constituencies in the state, said Kishan Reddy.

“Ours is a democratic party. Being a national party, we follow a policy and we will release the list only after discussing it in detail. We are completing the selection process in a democratic manner not like other family parties like Congress and BRS,” he said.

Out of 119 constituencies, the party announced the first list with 52 names and the second list with only one name.
