Police of the Cyberabad Commissionerate in Hyderabad conducted checks at some public places on Friday, 1 March, as part of precautionary measures in the wake of the bomb blast at an eatery in Bengaluru.
“We are watchful. We did some checks randomly, some places where public gatherings are there. No need to alarm anybody,” a police official told PTI.
This is part of the precautionary measures in the wake of the Bengaluru blast incident, he said.
A low-intensity bomb blast at a popular eatery in Bengaluru on Friday left 10 people injured even as the police invoked the stringent UAPA provisions in the case.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said it was a low-intensity blast and investigation is underway.
“A youngster has kept a bag and there was a blast after an hour. It was a low-intensity blast. All injured are out of danger. It was not a very big bomb but we have to do our duty. 7-8 groups of investigating officers are already on the job. We are looking at all angles,” the deputy Chief Minister said.
The police as well as the fire and emergency services personnel ruled out the possibility of a cylinder blast or LGP leak earlier on Friday. Fire department officials said a bag was found at the spot prompting the possibility of an explosive leading to the blast.
Samples of the bag and other items from the scene of the explosion have been collected for analysis.
