A new Telangana Bhavan, reflecting the culture of Telangana, will come up in the national capital New Delhi,
said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, 19 December.
The chief minister laid special focus on the division of assets between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi during a review meeting with Telangana Bhavan Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Sanjay Jaju in Delhi.
The chief minister, at a review meeting at his official residence, which hitherto served as BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao’s residence, inquired with the officials about the total area of the Telangana Bhavan, its condition, and the state’s share in it.
Officials informed him that the total undivided land was 19.78 acres. The undivided building was located over 8.781 acres of land, which included the Sabari Block, internal roads, and the Godavari Block.
The Old Nursing Hostel was built over 3.359 acres and the Pataudi House was constructed over 7.641 acres of land.
Revanth inquired with the officials about Telangana’s share in the total undivided available land. The officials informed him that Telangana would get 8.245 acres of land and the AP’s share would be 11.536 acres as per the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act, which divides the assets in the ratio of 41.68:58.32 between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The chief minister also inquired about the current condition of the buildings and the status of the residences of officers and staff as the structures were built three-four decades ago.
Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal told the chief minister that most of the buildings were in a dilapidated condition and repairs were being done.
The chief minister said that a new building should be constructed to reflect the cultural traditions of Telangana.
Before that, he examined the Bhavan’s map with the officials. He ordered the officials to focus on the division of assets between the two states.
The chief minister is said to have given several instructions to the officials on the division of assets.
