TVK reaffirmed its commitment to the party’s founding principles of advancing women’s education, empowerment, social reform, and secular governance, all aimed at achieving social justice.
The party asserted its dedication to the progressive ideals of leaders like BR Ambedkar, Thanthai Periyar, and Kamaraj. It also advocated for transparent administration that prioritises citizen welfare.
In a significant move, TVK took a strong stand against the BJP-led Union government’s ‘One Nation, One Election’ scheme, viewing it as anti-democratic and a threat to federalism. Additionally, actions to suppress opposition and curtail media freedom were also condemned by the party.

Notably, TVK urged for a caste-based census to ensure social equity, while criticising the DMK government in Tamil Nadu for not having conducted it to ensure fair representation and equitable resource distribution.
Demanding that education be transferred from the Concurrent to State List, TVK passed a resolution to eliminate NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Equal access to higher education for all students was also emphasised.
TVK called for a halt in the acquisition of land for the Parandur airport project, with concerns raised about potential negative impacts on agricultural lands and water bodies.
TVK called for the immediate commencement of the Coimbatore metro rail project to address traffic congestion and improve urban infrastructure in the district.
The party also took a resolution condemning the Union government’s interference in matters regarding Tamil culture, referring to the controversial painting of Thiruvalluvar and the recent dispute over Tamil Thai Vazhthu – the State’s anthem.
It also took a resolution opposing hikes on essential products like milk and electricity, as such hikes are a huge burden on common citizens.
TVK also condemned the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government over the lack of effective laws and their implementation in addressing drug abuse.
A call was made for the closure of liquor shops, citing alcohol dependency as a reason. TVK urged the state government to also reduce dependence on revenue generated from alcohol sales.
TVK proposed for better regional representation for South India, requesting an establishment of a Supreme Court branch in Chennai. It also passed a resolution seeking a museum to honour the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.
Public facilities such as bus stations, parks, and libraries were proposed to be named after Tamil freedom fighters, in recognition of their contributions to India’s independence.

Opposing nuclear mineral extraction projects in Kanyakumari, TVK cited concerns about the environmental and social impact on the region.
ISRO’s initiative to establish a rocket launch pad in Tuticorin was welcomed, with expected job creation for the local community being viewed as beneficial.
Even though TVK reaffirmed its commitment to social justice, development, and the welfare of people in the state, political analyst Sumanth Raman took to X to criticise it.
He wrote that Vijay being an extreme leftist will not be a good start to ensure TVK’s success.
