From early in the count, TVK candidates held strong leads in multiple seats against the ruling DMK and AIADMK candidates. The party’s first confirmed win came from Thanjavur, where R Vijaysaravanan won by 16,955 votes.
In Sivakasi, TVK’s S Keerthana secured a decisive win, defeating AIADMK’s former minister KT Rajendra Balaji and Congress candidate Ashokan by over 10,000 votes.
The party continued its run elsewhere. In Tambaram, Sarath Kumar won, while in Kinathukadavu, Vignesh took the seat.
In Madurai South, Gopisan won. In Gopichettipalayam, senior leader KA Sengottaiyan, now with TVK, also won. In Chennai’s Thiru Vi Ka Nagar constituency, MR Pallavi won by over 20,000 votes, while in Aranthangi, Mohamed Farvas J secured a win.
Collectively, TVK candidates have crossed one crore votes, giving the party more than 38 percent of the vote share.
As of 3.30 pm, the party leads in many constituencies, with margins ranging from a few hundred votes to over 10,000. It is also ahead in seats contested by senior ministers and long-standing political figures, especially in parts of northern Tamil Nadu.
