Tamil Nadu's final electoral roll 2026 published

Synopsis: Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik in the press meet, announced that the total number of voters are 5,67,07,380. Among which, 2,77,38,925 are male voters, 2,89,60,828 are female voters, and 7,617 are third gender voters. The roll includes 12.51 lakh electors aged 18–19 years, 4.63 lakh Persons with Disabilities, and 3.99 lakh senior citizens aged 85 and above.

The final electoral roll of Tamil Nadu, after the conduct of Special Intensive Revision (SIR), has been published on Monday, 23 February in Chennai.

Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik in the press meet, announced that the total number of voters are 5,67,07,380.

Among which, 2,77,38,925 are male voters, 2,89,60,828 are female voters, and 7,617 are third gender voters.

The roll includes 12.51 lakh electors aged 18–19 years, 4.63 lakh Persons with Disabilities, and 3.99 lakh senior citizens aged 85 and above.

As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the SIR of Electoral Rolls, 2026, with 1 January, 2026 as the qualifying date, was conducted across Tamil Nadu from 27 October, 2025 to 23 February, 2026.

As on 27 October, 2025, the State had a total of 6,41,14,587 electors. Following the Enumeration Phase, the draft roll published on 19 December, 2025 recorded 5,43,76,756 electors.

During the claims and objections period from 19 December, 2025 to January 30, 2026, 27.53 lakh eligible electors were added and 4.23 lakh ineligible electors were deleted. About 70 lakh voters have been removed from the voter list.

Constituencies with highest and lowest electors

The Assembly Constituency with the highest number of electors is 27–Shozhinganallur in Chengalpattu district with 5,36,991 electors (Male voters: 2,62,621; Female voters: 2,74,254; Third Gender voters: 116).

The second highest is Avadi Assembly Constituency in Thiruvallur district with 4,28,772 electors (Male voters: 2,09,662; Female voters: 2,19,035; Third Gender voters: 75).

The lowest number of electors are in Harbour Assembly Constituency in Chennai with 1,16,896 electors (Male voters: 58,221; Female voters: 58,620; Third Gender voters: 55).

The second lowest is Egmore (SC) Assembly Constituency in Chennai district with 1,34,879 electors (Male voters: 65,677; Female voters: 69,149; Third Gender voters: 53).

How to check and apply

The Final Electoral Roll is available on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Tamil Nadu.

Electors can verify their names online and may submit applications for inclusion (Form-6), correction (Form-8), or deletion (Form-7). Applications can be made online via this website, through the Voter Helpline App, or by visiting the respective Electoral Registration Office.

An appeal against the decision of the Electoral Registration Officer may be filed before the District Magistrate within 15 days under Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 read with Rule 27 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.

If dissatisfied with the decision, a second appeal may be preferred before the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days under Section 24(b) of the Act.

EPIC distribution and continuous updation

First-time voters aged 18–19 years and electors who have applied for corrections or transferred their residence to Tamil Nadu will receive their EPICs via Speed Post to their registered address.

The period of continuous updation has commenced from February 23, 2026. Eligible citizens who turned 18 as on January 1, 2026 but whose names are not included in the roll can apply through:

  1. Electoral Registration Officer’s office (Form-6)
  2. Online portal at [https://voters.eci.gov.in](https://voters.eci.gov.in)
  3. Voter Helpline App or through Booth Level Officers
