A special government welfare grievance redressal camp was held today, 12 March, at Madurai College ground in the Madurai Central Assembly Constituency, inaugurated by Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Palanivel Thiaga Rajan.

The camp aimed to address public concerns, with the minister receiving petitions on various issues.

During his speech, Minister Rajan highlighted the government’s commitment to resolving citizens’ grievances, noting that every MLA and councillor has an office to handle public requests.

He also mentioned the use of digital platforms, including call centres, online portals, and WhatsApp, to review complaints. Additionally, complaint boxes have been placed across his constituency to ensure prompt resolution.

Regarding the state’s financial planning, the minister pointed out that the fiscal year ends on 31 March, and the new budget will be presented this Friday. He emphasised that the findings from today’s grievance camp would be submitted to Minister Nehru and Secretary Karthikeyan to secure the necessary funds in the upcoming budget.

On the language policy, Minister Rajan firmly opposed the three-language policy, stating that intelligent individuals would not accept it. He reiterated that Tamil Nadu has prospered with its two-language policy and questioned the need for a three-language policy, pointing out that it has never been fully implemented anywhere in India.
