The Government of Tamil Nadu on Saturday, 7 March, has introduced a new service that allows people to call an ambulance through WhatsApp, making it easier to seek help during emergencies.
The initiative aims to ensure that ambulance s reach patients faster by simplifying the process of requesting emergency medical assistance.
Under the new service, people can send a “Hi” message to 94450 30725 on WhatsApp to request an ambulance.
Once the message is sent, users can quickly share their location and details of the emergency, helping authorities dispatch an ambulance without delay.
Officials said the WhatsApp-based system will help reduce response time and improve communication during emergencies.
The move has been widely welcomed by the public as a convenient and smart step that could help save valuable time in critical situations.
