Tamil Nadu government transfers former Chennai police commissioner A Arun
C. Mageshwari, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Special Investigation Cell-I, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, has been given full additional charge of the post of ADGP/Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai.
Synopsis: Former Chennai Police Commissioner A. Arun, IPS, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), has been appointed as the Additional Director General of Police and Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Oonamanchery, Chennai, against an existing vacancy.
The Tamil Nadu government on Monday, 13 July, ordered the immediate transfer and posting of two senior IPS officers.
Former Chennai Police Commissioner A. Arun, IPS, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), has been appointed as the Additional Director General of Police and Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Oonamanchery, Chennai, against an existing vacancy.
Meanwhile, C. Mageshwari, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Special Investigation Cell-I, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, has been given full additional charge of the post of ADGP/Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai.
Earlier in May, Tamil Nadu government announced IAS officer transfers and postings affecting several key departments, including Finance, Revenue Administration, Tourism and TASMAC.
According to an official notification, N. Muruganandam, who had returned from leave, was posted as Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management. He replaced P. Amudha, who had been holding additional charge of the post.
In another significant reshuffle, M. A. Siddique, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary and Managing Director of Chennai Metro Rail Limited, was transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department. He succeeds T. Udhayachandran.
The government also transferred S. Swarna, who had been serving as Principal Secretary and State Project Director of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). She was appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments Department. She replaced K. Manivasan, who had been holding additional charge.
Further K. Nanthakumar, IAS, was appointed as the new Managing Director of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), replacing T. Christuraj, IAS. He was previously serving as Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
