Human skeletal remains were recovered on Friday, 8 August, from a well near Madukkarai by the Chettipalayam police and Fire and Rescue Services.
Police said the remains are suspected to be those of Jayaraman, 24, from Tirunelveli district, who was allegedly killed by two men around 50 days ago.
Accused, D. Balamurugan (45), and P. Murugaperumal (25), both from Tirunelveli, surrendered to the Chettipalayam police on Thursday, 7 August, confessing that they had killed Jayaraman and disposed of his body in the well.
Investigations revealed that Murugaperumal and Jayaraman had arrived in Coimbatore two months earlier seeking employment, with Balamurugan assisting them.
Murugaperumal and Balamurugan reportedly met while the latter was serving a prison sentence in Palayamkottai, and they had previously worked together at a stud farm in Malumichampatti.
