Rajasthan worker electrocuted while installing electric pole in Tamil Nadu (iStock)
A 30-year-old contract worker from Rajasthan, Vijay Pal Singh, died on Tuesday after being electrocuted during electric pole installation in Chellappanpet village near Thanjavur.
The work, part of a Union Government scheme, was being executed by a Rajasthan-based contractor. Police said the pole accidentally touched a live overhead wire, killing Vijay instantly.
His body was shifted to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital for postmortem. Vallam police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
