Among the top priorities is the long-awaited funding for the Chennai Metro Rail project, which has faced a three-year delay due to insufficient budget allocations.

Stalin said that the decade-long expectations of middle-class families for a reduction in income tax burdens, and the need for approvals and funding for Coimbatore and Madurai metro rail projects must be addressed.
He called for sufficient allocation for both existing and new railway projects in Tamil Nadu to ensure their timely execution.
Additionally, Stalin advocated for increasing the expenditure limits for rural and urban housing schemes to better accommodate the needs of the state’s residents.
Stalin conveyed his optimism that the Union government would fulfil these critical expectations of the Tamil Nadu populace through the 2024 budget, thereby supporting the state’s growth and development.
Meanwhile, Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, also the son of Stalin, backed the chief minister’s demands for metro rail expansion in Chennai.
