BJP has been making sustained efforts to expand its presence in Tamil Nadu – a State long dominated by Dravidian politics.
In recent years, BJP has attempted to project itself as an alternative political force by stressing on development, governance, nationalism and welfare delivery, while capitalising on its position at the Centre.
Alliance dynamics are likely to be crucial in the forthcoming election.
BJP is currently part of the AIADMK-led alliance, although discussions are continuing over seat-sharing arrangements and the possible induction of smaller regional parties.
Experts point that BJP leadership is keen to consolidate anti-DMK votes and improve its seat tally by strengthening coordination with allies and sharpening its campaign narrative.
With the new team in place, BJP is expected to intensify its poll preparations, launch structured outreach programmes and fine-tune its alliance strategy as it seeks to make in roas in the high-stakes Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
