Synopsis: From veteran leader KA Sengottaiyan to Chief Minister Joseph Vijay’s close associates such as N Anand, and younger faces including S Keerthana, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet spans a wide range in age, experience and educational qualifications.
Three days after taking office, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government in Tamil Nadu, led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, comfortably proved its majority in the Assembly on Wednesday, 13 May, with support from the IUML, Congress, VCK, CPI, CPI(M) and 30 MLAs from the AIADMK.
The vote ends weeks of uncertainty over government formation and clears the way for the new administration to turn its full attention to governance. Alongside Vijay, nine other TVK MLAs were sworn in as ministers on 10 May.
One of the Chief Minister’s first tasks will be to allocate portfolios to his newly inducted Cabinet colleagues.

Here is a detailed look at the ministers’ declared assets, criminal cases, if any, and educational qualifications.

Vijay completed schooling up to Class 12 and enrolled for a BSc degree at Loyola College Chennai, affiliated with the University of Madras, in 1992, but did not complete the course.
Vijay has declared two criminal cases in his election affidavit.
The first case stems from an FIR registered at the K5 Peravallur Police Station on 2 April 2026. The complainant, who was serving as the SST Team In-Charge for the Kolathur Assembly constituency, alleged that Vijay and around 5,000 others conducted election campaigning on 30 March 2026 in a way that caused inconvenience to the public.
The FIR was registered under Sections 126(2), 189(2) and 223 of the BNS, along with Sections 3(a) and 35 of the TNCP Act.
The second case relates to an FIR registered at the Koodakovil Police Station in Madurai district. The complainant alleged that he climbed onto a ramp during a TVK conference in Madurai on 21 August 2025 after seeing Vijay on stage.
He alleged that around 10 bouncers then pushed him away, verbally abused him and assaulted him, causing chest and internal injuries. The FIR was registered under Sections 189(2), 296(b) and 115(2) of the BNS.
Vijay has declared assets worth ₹648.85 crore and liabilities of ₹7.63 crore.
Aadhav Arjuna is part of the younger generation of leaders in the TVK. He currently represents the Villivakkam constituency in Chennai district.
Arjuna began his political career in the strategy ecosystem of the DMK before moving to the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, where he rose to the post of deputy general secretary.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Madras Christian College, affiliated with the University of Madras. He completed the course in 2003.
Arjuna has declared one criminal case in his election affidavit.
The case relates to FIR No. RC 2172025 S0022/AC-II, investigated by the CBI through its Anti Corruption-II branch in New Delhi.
The case was transferred to the CBI from FIR No. 855/2025 registered at the Karur Town Police Station on 27 September 2025, following a 13 October 2025 order by the Supreme Court of India in SLP (Criminal) No. 016539/2025.
The FIR invokes Sections 105, 110, 125(B) and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act, 1992.
The allegations include culpable homicide, attempt to commit culpable homicide, acts endangering life or personal liberty, obstructing a public servant in the discharge of duty and damage to public property.
Arjuna has declared assets worth ₹534.90 crore and liabilities of ₹26.26 crore.

Rajmohan Arunmugam, popularly known as “Put Chutney Rajmohan”, is among the more unconventional faces in the TVK Cabinet. Before entering politics, he worked as an anchor, actor, stand-up comedian, motivational speaker and director.
After joining TVK, Rajmohan became one of the party’s prominent campaign speakers and later served as propaganda secretary. He represents the Egmore (SC) constituency in Chennai district.
Rajmohan holds a diploma in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management and Technology, completed in 2010. He later obtained a BA degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2018.
His election affidavit declares no criminal cases.
Rajmohan has declared assets worth ₹2.03 crore and liabilities of ₹30 lakh.
Before joining the TVK, CTR Nirmalkumar was known as one of the more aggressive digital voices of the BJP in Tamil Nadu. He served as the state BJP’s IT and Social Media Wing president and frequently appeared in online political campaigns and debates.
He represents the Thiruparankundram constituency in Madurai district.
Nirmalkumar holds degrees in engineering, law and criminology. He completed a BE degree from RMK Engineering College, affiliated with Anna University, in 2003. He later obtained an LLB degree from Vivekananda College of Law under Bangalore University in 2011, followed by an MA in Criminology and Police Administration from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2012.
He has declared two criminal cases in his election affidavit.
The first case relates to FIR No. 855/2025 registered at the Karur Town Police Station under Sections 105, 110, 125(b) and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act, 1992.

According to the affidavit, no chargesheet has been filed so far. The case was later transferred to the CBI and re-registered as RC217202550022 on 18 October 2025 at the CBI AC-II Police Station in New Delhi.
The second case, FIR No. CCB 314/2024, was registered by the Cyber Crime Branch Chennai under Sections 192, 353(1)(B) and 353(2) of the BNS, 2023.
The allegations concern spreading rumours, inciting unrest and creating fear among the public. The affidavit states that no chargesheet has been filed in this case either.
Nirmalkumar has declared assets worth ₹26.26 crore and no liabilities.

One of the most senior leaders in the Cabinet, Sengottaiyan spent more than five decades in the AIADMK before joining the TVK in 2025.
A long-time MLA from the Gobichettipalayam constituency in Erode district, he first entered the Assembly in 1977 and later handled portfolios including Transport, Agriculture, Information Technology and School Education.
In western Tamil Nadu, Sengottaiyan built a reputation as a powerful grassroots organiser and remained influential during the eras of MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. After being expelled from the AIADMK by Edappadi K Palaniswami in 2025, he joined TVK along with his supporters.
Sengottaiyan studied up to Class 10. He has declared three criminal cases in his election affidavit.
The first case relates to FIR No. 715/2021 registered at the Thiruvallikeni Police Station in Chennai under Sections 143, 341 and 269 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act. The allegations relate to conducting a protest in violation of COVID-19 restrictions. The case is pending inquiry.
The second case, FIR No. 302/2022, was registered at the Nungambakkam Police Station under Sections 143, 290 and 291 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Section 41 of the Tamil Nadu City Police Act.
According to the affidavit, the allegations concern creating public nuisance during a protest. The case is pending trial.
The third case relates to FIR No. 721/2024 registered at the Sathiyamangalam Police Station under Sections 189(2) and 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The allegations concern unlawful assembly. The case is pending inquiry.
Sengottaiyan has declared assets worth ₹12.77 crore and liabilities of ₹1.40 crore.
KG Arunraj is among the technocratic faces in the C Joseph Vijay ministry. A former IRS officer and doctor, he represents the Tiruchengodu constituency in Namakkal district.
Originally from Salem, Arunraj completed his MBBS degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in 2002. He later cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination and joined the IRS in 2009.
After taking voluntary retirement in 2025, Arunraj joined the TVK and quickly emerged as one of the party’s policy-focused faces.
His election affidavit declares no criminal cases.
Arunraj has declared assets worth ₹12.77 crore and liabilities of ₹1.40 crore.

Popularly known as “Bussy” Anand, Anand is among C Joseph Vijay’s closest political associates and currently serves as general secretary of the TVK. He won from the Thiyagarayanagar constituency in Chennai district.
Anand began his political career in Puducherry with the Puducherry Munnetra Congress and was elected MLA from the Bussy constituency in 2006. He later joined the All India NR Congress before becoming a key organisational figure in TVK.
Anand studied up to Class 8. He has declared three criminal cases in his election affidavit.
The first case relates to an FIR initially registered at the Karur Town Police Station before being transferred to the CBI. The CBI registered the case as FIR No. RC2172025S0022 at the CBI/AC-II Police Station in New Delhi on 18 October 2025 under Sections 105, 110, 125(b) and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act, 1992.
The allegations include culpable homicide not amounting to murder, attempt to commit culpable homicide, causing grievous hurt, disobedience of orders issued by a public servant and damage to public property.
The second case was registered at the Airport Police Station in Tiruchirappalli. According to the affidavit, the case relates to a vehicle allegedly being parked in a way that caused inconvenience to the public, obstructed a public pathway and prevented a police officer from carrying out official duties.
The FIR was registered under Sections 189(2), 285, 126(2) and 132 of the BNS, 2023.
The third case was registered at the R1 Mambalam Police Station in 2024 under Sections 61, 62, 189, 223, 270, 351 and 352 read with 41(vi)(A) of the TNCP Act. The allegations include criminal conspiracy, abetment, unlawful assembly with a common object, disobedience of orders issued by a public servant, public nuisance, criminal intimidation and intentional provocation likely to cause a breach of peace.
Anand has declared assets worth ₹7.47 crore and liabilities of ₹3.58 crore.
A long-time associate of Vijay, Venkataramanan has reportedly worked closely with the actor for more than two decades and handled several administrative responsibilities even before the launch of the TVK.
He represents the Mylapore constituency in Chennai district.
Venkataramanan holds multiple postgraduate degrees. He completed an MCom degree from Annamalai University in 2002, followed by an MBA from Periyar University in 2015. He later obtained an LLM degree from Annamalai University in 2020.
His election affidavit declares no criminal cases.
Venkataramanan has declared assets worth ₹5.40 crore and liabilities of ₹25 lakh.

S Keerthana is the only woman in C Joseph Vijay’s Cabinet and among its youngest members. She represents the Sivakasi constituency in Virudhunagar district.
Before entering active politics, Keerthana worked as a political consultant and campaign strategist. She was associated with firms including IPAC and Showtime Consulting, and worked on election campaigns linked to parties such as the DMK, All India Trinamool Congress and Telugu Desam Party.
Keerthana holds postgraduate qualifications in statistics and mathematics. She completed an MSc in Statistics from Pondicherry University in 2019 after obtaining a BSc degree in Mathematics from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2016.
Her election affidavit declares no criminal cases.
Keerthana has declared assets worth ₹22 lakh and liabilities of ₹12 lakh.
A dentist by profession, Dr TK Prabhu is known in and around Karaikudi for his medical and social service activities. He represents the Karaikudi constituency in Sivaganga district.
Prabhu owns and manages dental hospitals in Karaikudi and other cities. He built a local reputation through healthcare outreach and community engagement initiatives.
He completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from SRM University in 2009, followed by an MSD degree from the University of the East in 2012. He later obtained an MSc degree from COTHM University in 2022.
Prabhu also holds an ICDI qualification from The Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology, completed in 2016, and a FICOI fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2019.
His election affidavit declares no criminal cases.
Prabhu has declared assets worth ₹11.39 crore and liabilities of ₹3.26 crore.
