Coimbatore BJP functionary Sathish Kumar was hacked with a sickle on the night of Tuesday, 27 August. Following the attack, the Tamil Nadu police arrested and interrogated two people—Eryutti Velu and Saravanan, as the investigation is underway.

The RS Puram police have registered a case against the mysterious persons who attempted to kill Sathish and fled the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, the motive behind the attack was due to a past enmity with another gang in the RS Puram area.

Sathish Kumar, the 28-year-old BJP functionary was attacked by a gang of four when he was in his office in the RS Puram area.

The assailants entered his office on Tuesday night, attacked him with a sickle, and cut both his wrists. Currently, a grievously injured Sathish Kumar is undergoing treatment at an intensive care unit of a private hospital, in Saibaba colony, in Coimbatore.

Sathish Kumar hailing from Seeranayakanlayam, Vadavalli, works at a private finance company along with holding the secretary position of the RS Puram BJP youth wing.
