Synopsis: Referring to the success of India’s precision strikes on terrorist bases deep inside Pakistan, Doval shared his perspective that the country will be the mightiest in the world by 2047.
India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Friday, 11 July, said India struck nine terrorist targets deep inside Pakistan with precision, and the operation lasted just 23 minutes.
Doval spoke about Operation Sindoor — India’s response to a Pakistan-sponsored deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April — while addressing the 62nd convocation at IIT-Madras.
While taking pride in India’s “best” indigenous systems, the NSA dared the foreign media to show at least one image of any damage Pakistan had inflicted on India during the 88-hour conflict that began early on 7 May with India’s precision strikes on terrorist camps deep inside the neighbouring country.
“The images showed only 13 air bases in Pakistan before and after 10 May, whether it was in Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Chaklala…I am telling you what the foreign media had put out on the basis of images,” Doval said in one of his rare appearances at a public event.
Praising the success of Operation Sindoor, he said it was a technologically advanced strike carried out with complete indigenous support. Doval called for further development of indigenous technologies.
He shared his perspective that India will have the world’s largest military force by 2047, 100 years after the country gained independence. “We will be the world’s largest market… a tremendous power.”
Doval, also the former R&AW chief, said India will make a difference in defence, manufacturing, technology, and all other fields.
“We have started working on it,” he said, and exhorted students to work hard to achieve India’s goal.
“If you dedicate yourself to the next 22 years, then you will make us proud. I am 80 and have had my life. This country needs you, do your best,” he added.
