Kerala has issued a statewide alert on the West Nile Virus after cases — and death — were reported from Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kozhikode.
The Kerala Health Department on Tuesday issued a statewide alert, urging heightened vigilance and action to contain the spread of the West Nile Virus (WNV). The state has reported seven WNV cases. The department mobilised resources and instructed the authorities concerned to intensify mosquito-control measures. The steps aim to minimise mosquito breeding grounds and spread awareness among people.
