Duraisamy, a man accused in over 70 criminal cases, including five murders in Tamil Nadu, was shot dead on Thursday. The police fired at him after he allegedly assaulted the officers. The police were searching for Duraisamy near Pudukottai when he tried to escape after assaulting the officers. Police said he died at the scene of the firing.
