Turbulent times are ahead in the church in Kerala. Last December the Pope noticed the long-simmering dispute in Syro-Malabar Church over changes to the liturgy, which is a pattern of worship used by Christian congregations or denominations on a regular basis. The conflict is where tradition clashes with uniformity, and dissenters face expulsion, but some priests are challenging the changes.
