A closer look at Karnataka’s Annapoorna morning nutrition program shows that on the pretext of offering sattvik food, doors are being closed to providing nutrient-dense foods to children. The programme involves adding a nutrient supplement called Saisure and Kellogg’s cereals to the morning meal. However, the latter is considered junk food while the former has less protein than an egg.
