TN bans liquid nitrogen in food as it can cause internal burns

Tamil Nadu has warned food business operators against using liquid nitrogen for direct consumption along with biscuits, ice creams, and wafers. “Liquid nitrogen should be fully evaporated from the food or drinks before being served,” its order stated. Its temperature is colder than the human body can tolerate and can cause severe cryogenic burns and tissue damage to the body.
