Time to shed light on invisible and unpaid work of women in India

If women’s unpaid work is calculated, it will account for 7.5 percent of India’s GDP, claims SBI’s Ecowrap report. Women are historically forced to carry a disproportionate burden of unpaid domestic and home care responsibilities, placing them at higher risks of depressive and anxiety symptoms. Unpaid work imposes on women the costs of missed opportunities for education and public participation.
