The Karnataka assembly on Thursday, 29 February, passed the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments (Amendment) Bill, 2024 after the Council returned it to the Assembly. It will now be sent to the Governor for his assent. The Bill proposed a common pool fund, with rich temples contributing to it, for assisting religious activities. The BJP had opposed it.
