The Telangana government on Monday, 20 May, decided to invite senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for the state formation day celebrations. It also decided to pay a bonus of ₹500 on MSP to farmers who cultivated fine rice varieties of paddy. Sonia is being invited since Congress came to power for the first time since the state’s formation.
