Tamil actor Sarath Kumar merges his party AISMK with BJP

In the presence of AISMK office-bearers and BJP Tamil Nadu unit president K Annamalai, Sarath Kumar merged his party with the saffron party.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, veteran Tamil actor R Sarath Kumar on Tuesday, 12 March, merged his Akila Indiya Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) with the BJP, whose Tamil Nadu unit president K Annamalai was present on the occasion. The 69-year-old actor appealed to his party workers to bring BJP to power in Tamil Nadu in the Assembly in 2026.
