A football player from Ivory Coast was beaten up by a mob of spectators and allegedly racially abused recently during a soccer match between local clubs near Areekode in Kerala’s Malappuram district. The player has recorded his statement. Police said some spectators made fun of the player who kicked one of them. They then chased him and beat him up.
