‘Special status for Andhra first priority if Congress comes to power at Centre’

Former Union Minister Sachin Pilot asserted that the special category status is essential for the state's development and progress.

The Congress issued a declaration in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday, 1 March, saying “as soon as the party comes to power” at the Centre, the state will get a 10-year special category status. APCC chief YS Sharmila made the declaration in the presence of senior party leaders, including former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot.
