The ‘One nation, one election’ plan will be the death knell for federalism and will convert India into a one-party state, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said on Thursday, adding elections keep governments on their toes. His comments came after former president Ram Nath Kovind-led panel submitted its report, saying simultaneous polls will help realise aspirations of “India, that is Bharat”.
