Shoot ‘killer’ gaur if it cannot be captured, orders Kerala forest dept

The Chief Wildlife Warden's order said the animal should be identified, and then all possible efforts should be made to tranquilise it.

As protests by the public and people’s representatives intensified in Kozhikode district over the death of a man in an attack by an Indian gaur, the Kerala government on Wednesday, 6 March, ordered that the animal be shot and killed if it cannot be tranquilised or captured. It also directed the entire operation to be photographed and videographed.
