Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday, 21 March, asserted he has taken the responsibility as Irrigation Minister to implement the Mekedatu project across river Cauvery. His reaction was in response to the DMK’s promise to stop the construction in its Lok Sabha poll manifesto. He said the case was coming up before the Cauvery Water Management Authority.
