Seven people in Karnataka have lost their lives to heavy, continuous rain in the last 72 hours. Hundreds of people have suffered damages to their houses. District administrations have identified areas vulnerable to landslides and flooding and are ready to relief centres when required. Despite heavy rains, reservoirs in the Krishna and Cauvery basin are not yet half full.
