Sea incursion in Kerala amid swell surge warning

A number of houses were damaged and roads were flooded as massive waves hit the shores of many coastal hamlets.

Kallakkadal

Amid warning of the ‘kallakkadal’ phenomenon along the Kerala coast, the state witnessed high tidal waves and sea incursions. Several houses were damaged and roads were flooded. Seawater gushed into houses forcing residents to shift to safer places at Anchuthengu and Poonthura in Thiruvananthapuram. People had to pay extra vigil to protect their fishing gear from the waves.
