SC to hear NGO’s plea on voter turnout data release

Association for Democratic Reforms said the plea was filed to ensure that the democratic process is not subverted by electoral irregularities.

Supreme Court has agreed to hear on 17 May an NGO’s plea seeking direction to the Election Commission to upload polling station-wise voter turnout data on its website within 48 hours of the conclusion of polling for each phase of the Lok Sabha elections. It said the plea was to ensure the democratic process is not subverted by electoral irregularities.
