SC rejects Maha govt’s plea against Saibaba acquittal

The apex court said the Bombay High Court order clearing them of the charges is "prima facie well-reasoned".

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a Maharashtra government application seeking a stay on the acquittal of former Delhi University professor GN Saibaba and others in the Maoist links case. The court said the Bombay High Court order clearing them of the charges is “prima facie well-reasoned”. However, it admitted the state government’s appeal against the high court’s 5 March order.
