Let there not be a “contest” between the Union and the state, the Supreme Court said on Monday, 8 April, while hearing Karnataka’s plea for releasing drought relief funds. The bench noted top law officers stating they would seek instruction by the next date. The plea said 196 taluks are categorised as severely affected and remaining 27 as moderately affected.
