IMD has predicted rainfall in Tamil Nadu till 22 May. The state has been receiving rainfall for the past two days.

The weather office has issued a red alert for 19 and 20 May in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki districts and predicted heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu in the coming days. It issued an orange alert in nine Kerala districts for 21 May, saying some may receive rains of a red-alert magnitude. Fishermen are not to venture out to sea.
