With the intensity of rain tapering in Karnataka, the officials said they can now control rain-related damages with pre-emptive and proactive measures and monitoring the inflow and outflow of water into rivers and dams. Meanwhile, schools and PU colleges in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada were closed on 1 August. But, officials have been concerned because there is a likelihood of some villages along the Sharavati river facing flooding.
