President nominates author-philanthropist Sudha Murty to Rajya Sabha

The Government of India awarded Sudha Murty the Padma Shri in 2006 and Padma Bhushan in 2023 for her social work.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, 8 March, announced that the President nominated author and philanthropist Sudha Murty to the Rajya Sabha. The announcement came on Women’s Day. She was the former chairperson of Infosys Foundation and is married to Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy. The government awarded her the Padma Shri in 2006 and Padma Bhushan in 2023 for her social work.
