Polling booth deep inside Kerala forest for 92-year-old voter

A polling booth was set up beside the bed of the nonagenarian, allowing him to vote in complete privacy, they said.

In the tribal village of Edamalakkudy, nestled deep within Kerala’s Idukki hill district’s lush forests, lives 92-year-old Sivalingam. Despite his age and being bedridden, Sivalingam’s determination to vote remains strong. He applied for the “vote from home” facility and a polling team undertook a challenging journey including an 18-km trek through a forest to reach Sivalingam’s home on Wednesday.
