JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday, 9 June, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given him an opportunity to serve as a minister in the new Cabinet being sworn in in the evening, and credited the people of ‘Kannada Naadu’ for it. Maintaining that he had not demanded any portfolio, he reiterated his desire to be the agriculture minister.
