The Railways on Monday rejected media reports about alleged move to close down the Palakkad Division, saying that they were “entirely speculative” and “devoid of factual basis.” State Railway Minister V Abdurahiman had sent a letter to the Union Railway Minister requesting him to withdraw from the decision. The railways said the response from certain prominent individuals exacerbated the situation.
