Nirmala Sitharaman says she lacks funds to contest polls

The minister said that the BJP president (JP Nadda) gave her the option to contest either from Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said she declined the BJP offer to contest elections since she did not have the “kind of funds” required for fighting the Lok Sabha polls. The minister said that the BJP president gave her the option to contest either from Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu. She further said she would campaign for other candidates.
